  3. Wroclaw turns you on? Shoot a film about it!

This year’s 7th edition of the competition for a short film about Wroclaw has just begun. Films should promote the city as the European Capital of Culture 2016. There is much to compete for - the pool of prizes includes not only 30,000 PLN, but also valuable prizes-in-kind and internships that will give young filmmakers an opportunity for professional development.

“We invite you to participate in another edition of the competition ‘Wroclaw turns you on? Shoot a film about it!’, which has already become a fixed part of the cultural calendar of the city. This competition is becoming increasingly popular from year to year,” says Maja Berny from the Press Office of the City Council of Wroclaw.

The competition is addressed both to professionals, including advertising agencies, and to amateurs. Films are to be short (from 30 to 60 seconds) and can be made by means of any technique and equipment. They can be shot with a digital or photographic camera or with a mobile phone. At the same time, competition works can combine the film picture with an animation technique or be animated as a whole.

“Films should show the advantages of our city as the capital of culture and encourage potential visitors to come to Wroclaw in 2016. Participants will have an opportunity to show how Wroclaw inspires them in this role, what they find particularly attractive about it and what it can offer,” enumerates Maja Berny.
