The web cooking app Cooklet from Poland has won the first prize at the Gourmand Awards, one of the most important events of this kind in the culinary world. The app was awarded the first prize in the Best Digital Cookbook Category at the ceremony held on 21 May in Beijing. The Wroclaw-based start-up competed with designs from Brazil, China and the US.
Wroclaw's app Cooklet has made it to the finals of 19. edition of the Gourmand Awards, a prestigious competition for culinary content publishers (from 1995, the event is held simultaneously with the largest cook book trade fair in the world). The app, which was nominated in the Best Digital Cookbook category, competed with designs from Brazil, China and the US.
"The first prize at the Gourmand Awards in the Best Digital Cookbook category is very important to our company. We are happy that the initiative we started four years ago is on its way to achieve global recognition. It's a very important moment not only because of the prestige and esteem that the prize enjoys in the culinary industry. It is also a giant step towards a closer cooperation with premium content publishers throughout the world," says Grzegorz Trubiłowicz, the originator and one of the main authors of both the Cooklet app and the Cooklet web page.
