"In Wroclaw there are all the main components: an army of students, thousands of graduates with high qualifications and good knowledge of foreign languages, the entrepreneurs who interact every day with the ins and outs of new technology, the international corporations constantly fighting for talents, and finally, the founders of the local start-ups and numerous representatives of the cultural scene", says Dermot Corr, the initiator and organiser of Tech Saturdays, the event which debuted at the Wroclaw stage of promoting entrepreneurship in December 2013. "There are so many people with phenomenal ideas in this city. The only thing that is missing is a suitable ecosystem to allow converting them into market products that generate real incomes. Despite many promising plans to connect various industries, especially the world of software developers with the business community, the investors and representatives managing the sources of funding, Wroclaw is still far away from concentrating the genuine entrepreneurship", says Dermot, an Irishman, who stays in Wroclaw from July 2012. Being the CEO of TechSorted, he is involved in the search for professional software developers to participate in international projects, carried out mainly by British and Irish companies.
Tech Saturdays is the need to use the economic potential and creativity of Wroclaw. This event, held on the first Saturday of each month, is based on the presentations which last for several minutes, during which the speaker is to present an important content, an inspirational message which sometimes is worth more than hours of lectures. The short lectures are given by the foreigners with extensive professional experience, famous entrepreneurs and capital investors. Yellow and red cards encourage to start the dialogue and exchange valuable experience and remarks: the organiser irrevocably forbids talking to people already known by the participants!
"Dermot is an interesting figure at Wroclaw's stage. He appeared out of nowhere, and he seems to be everywhere, at least when it comes to the world of IT. He is honest, open and helpful, as well as the events that he organises under the name of Tech Saturdays. The first editions portend well for the future. I am personally planning to organise a series of Tech Saturdays event in Warsaw, in collaboration with Dermot!" says Tomasz Chołast, the co-founder of the interactive agency, Joy Intermedia, the member of Creativro cluster.

On Facebook profile (https://www.facebook.com/TechSaturdays?fref=ts) we can read that "Tech Saturdays is a monthly event designed to bring together the best and the brightest". There really are no obstacles to create such a community in Wroclaw, for the benefit of a safe and sustainable growth of our city.
