A series of episodes with lectures on mathematical analysis on YouTube is available since last year's spring. The lecturer is Doc. Janusz Górniak from the Faculty of Fundamental Problems of Technology Department at Wroclaw University of Technology (Wydział Podstawowych Problemów Techniki Politechniki Wrocławskiej).
90 episodes were filmed in two months and each episode is approximately 15-20 minutes. The course covers a range of topics on mathematical analysis, which is taught in the first semester in all departments of Wroclaw University of Technology (Politechnika Wrocławska).
Mathematical analysis is considered to be one of the most difficult subjects at the University. On one hand it can be used as help for those who have difficulties in learning the material during regular classes. But those who do not have any problems with mathematical analysis should treat the series as a kind of supplement to the classes, not a substitute.
"Those lectures on the internet are also useful for the candidates who want to study at the university, because they can check what are the requirements and prepare for them adequately", adds Andrzej Charytoniuk from University's press office.
The first episode of the series had more than 46 thousand views, the second one was watched by over 22 thousand people. The next episodes weren't so popular, the number of views ranges between a thousand and several thousands.
Most of the comments under the videos are enthusiastic. 'Awesome', 'Why so late?', 'Brilliant'. One of the viewers commented: "It's really a shame that the videos are available only now, because I have already passed both analyses. But my sister is starting her first year so it is perfect for her". But at the same time the users complained that the videos were relatively hard to find in YouTube and that they were not promoted properly.
Doc. Górniak: "Internet users also pointed out the technical quality, for example, too strong lighting or a shadow moving behind me. But overall feedback on this project was positive".

The videos are to promote the University
The students of Wroclaw University of Technology (Politechnika Wrocławska) are asking about video lectures from other subjects.
"We are almost finished with the videos dedicated to physics with Prof. Ewa Popko from the Faculty of Fundamental Problems of Technology Department at Wroclaw University of Technology (Wydział Podstawowych Problemów Techniki Politechniki Wrocławskiej)", says Andrzej Charytoniuk. "The series shall consist of 90 episodes and should appear on the internet in March. In the future we plan so that each department has its chosen internet course".
