Urban guerillas on ul Ruska
Poland's first street lab, which goes by the name of the MIASTOPROJEKT, will be launched at the Studio - BWA Wroclaw in the yard at ul Ruska 46. For a number of years, the place had served as the BWA Wroclaw atelier, and later it was converted into a gallery presenting works and designs from young artists. The Studio has been recently transformed and officially converted into Poland's first street lab, the MIASTOPROJEKT.
The lab has been designed not only to foster daily urban artistic activities, but also to encourage change in daily practices and create a platform for the exchange of ideas and experiences between different activists in the city.
"We seek sustainable solutions that are offered both by artists and activists, the residents of the city and those who use the urban space on a regular basis. And we also give them the opportunity to share in the activities to reshape the yard at ul Ruska 46," emphasise the curators Joanna Stembalska and Zbiok Czajkowski.

Utterly new Studio
The venue where the Studio - BWA Wroclaw is located has been revamped and refurnished with hand-made furniture that adds to its completely new character and atmosphere.
The curators say that the street lab will be available to every one and, while remaining an art gallery, it will also serve as an open atelier, a reading room and a place to meet or hold a discussion or a workshop. The concept of the new Studio is to explore the ideas that inspired the initiatives held as part of the International Biennale of Urban Art OUT OF STH which analyse those phenomena in the public space that are difficult to pinpoint or categorise. The grand opening of the MIASTOPROJEKT will be accompanied by a number of events, including the vernissage of the Hate Is Reality exhibition at the Studio - BWA Wroclaw, the O/Upór exhibition action in the house at ul Ruska 46a, the presentation of the Kooperacja Siewców Tytoniu [Tobacco Sowers Cooperation] installation, new murals in the yard and the audio-cognitive project Muzyka Miasta [Music of the City] held in different part of Wroclaw.
