  3. Flowers, deckchairs and cocktails at the pillory

The centre of Wroclaw has turned into a flowery meadow, and handicraftsmen and exhibitors from all parts of Poland will sell their regional products during that time. St. John’s Fair started on Wroclaw Market Square on the 25th of May.

Lazy afternoons among greens

For the period of the Fair, the centre of Wroclaw has turned into a flowery meadow. Thanks to designs prepared by gardeners and florists, the Wroclaw Market Square has drowned in greenery and flowers. St. John’s gardens surprise visitors with their unique arrangements. Colourful summer deckchairs, a fountain, modern garden architecture and a multitude of beautiful plants have appeared. At the pillory, cocktail places are arranged - they are ideal for meetings with friends and an afternoon rest. Even fans of resting on the beach will find a space for themselves on the Wroclaw Market Square. On hot summer days, you can quench your thirst with refreshing drinks in Młynówka - an exceptional house with a mill wheel and a windmill situated among St. John’s gardens. Each garden will be a characteristic and unique place.

Climatic shopping in the heart of the city

In wooden houses located along Świdnicka and Oławska streets, you can find unique designer jewellery, artistic ceramics, ambers, wooden and environment-friendly products. There will also be an opportunity to admire handicraftsmen during their work, e.g. a blacksmith, and to visit an amber production shop. On the spot, you can taste traditional highlanders’ Oscypek cheese, regional treats from Lithuania, Austria and Italy, coloured candyfloss, sweet delicacies and summer desserts.

Exhibitions, workshops and garland-making

St. John’s Fair consists not only of magical summer gardens and the shopping spree in wooden houses. Wroclaw inhabitants and visitors to the Wroclaw Market Square can also expect other summer surprises. Already on Saturday the 14th of June, a floristic exhibition "Inny Wrocław" ("Different Wroclaw") will be held at the pillory surrounded by gardens, and on Sunday the 15th of June, masters of floristry – Agnieszka Mitko-Kominek and Marek Kucharski – will conduct floristic workshops. Little water nymphs will have an opportunity to present garlands made by themselves, and the most beautiful garland will receive a prize in a contest.

St. John’s Fair will last from the 25th of May till the 25th of June 2014 and will be open every day from 10:00 a.m.
