In the last hours before the deadline for submission of applications to the Wrocław Citizens’ Budget (Wrocławski Budżet Obywatelski – WBO), the largest number of projects was submitted. At the present moment, there are about 470 of them, whereas a week ago we had only about 100. An accurate number of them will be stated within a few days, when projects sent by post are delivered to us.
One of the projects submitted in the last few hours was sent from Stabłowice and concerns the creation of a leisure & sports area. "We have already invested in this land by buying plants and swings, but they were devastated", says Jarosław from Stabłowice, one of the originators of this project. "We want to set up playing fields, an open-air body-building centre and a playground – simply an interesting place to have a rest or a barbecue", he adds.
In the last few hours, many cycling path projects were submitted. Other projects concern, among others, the "Freduś" bus, welcome signs for the western part of Wrocław, or the Marina at Pracze Widawskie. The Wrocław inhabitants were also willing to restore the Tartar Column monument at the Szczepin housing estate or to put letters making up an inscription “WROCLOVE” in an attractive location(s) for tourists, where commemorative photographs could be taken.
- "At the end of May, we will write to each project leader whether everything is all right with his project; in the case of any critical remarks, he will be invited to a consultation meeting", explains Bartłomiej Świerczewski from the City Council Office.
